From a UK kebab shop to Jalan Kebun.
Dönerjer began in the United Kingdom, where our founder spent years studying, working — and, as it turned out, learning the doner trade from behind the counter of a British kebab shop.
That job taught him more than the food. It showed him how a proper doner operation runs, from the prep to the pace to the people. Back in Malaysia, he saw a chance to bring it home — with a local identity of its own. Together with his wife and their business partner, the three of them turned the idea into Dönerjer.
What opened as a modest single-storey shop has grown into a two-storey, fully air-conditioned spot with a playground out front and room to linger. From a simple idea inspired by the UK to a growing Malaysian brand — Dönerjer is only getting started.
